Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy applies to DriftBoss100 (driftboss100.com), a free browser game website published by the PLAY100 Network. It explains what information the site handles, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Ownership and Publisher
DriftBoss100 is owned and published by the PLAY100 Network, which operates several free browser game domains on shared infrastructure. The practices described here are PLAY100 standards and apply across the network, though each site publishes its own copy of this policy.
For the purposes of the GDPR, the PLAY100 Network is the data controller for DriftBoss100.
2. Our Approach in Short
- No account. You can play and read everything without registering.
- No personal profile. We do not build one, and we do not sell your data.
- Your progress stays on your device. Game saves and ratings live in your browser, not on our servers.
- We tell you what is actually running. Where this policy describes something we have not switched on yet, it says so plainly.
3. Information We Collect
Automatically, when you visit:
- device type, browser type, and operating system
- IP address, used for security and abuse prevention and truncated or discarded once it is no longer needed for that purpose
- pages visited, time on site, and referring URL
- anonymous performance and error diagnostics
Stored in your own browser, never sent to us:
- your game progress, high scores, and level data
- your star rating and like/dislike choice for a game
See Section 5 and our Cookie Policy for the exact storage keys.
When you choose to contact us:
- your email address and whatever you put in your message
4. Information We Do Not Collect
- your name or other personal identifiers, unless you volunteer them in an email to us
- payment or financial information — every game here is free, and there is nothing to buy
- precise geolocation
- data from any account, because there are no accounts
5. Cookies and Browser Storage
DriftBoss100 currently sets only what it needs to function: a session cookie
that keeps the site working during your visit, and browser localStorage
entries that remember your game progress and ratings on your own device.
localStorage is not a cookie and is never transmitted to our servers. The
keys are:
| Key | What it stores | Retained until |
|---|---|---|
play100_voted_{gameId} | Your 1–5 star rating for a game, so you are not asked twice | You clear browser data |
play100_vote_{gameId} | Your like or dislike choice for a game | You clear browser data |
game_progress_* | In-game progress, high scores and level data, written by the game itself | You clear browser data |
Clearing your browser storage resets saved game progress, and we cannot restore it — we never had a copy.
Our Cookie Policy covers this in full, including what would be set if we enable analytics or advertising.
6. Third-Party Services
In use today:
| Service | What it does |
|---|---|
PLAY100 infrastructure (cdn.play100.io, strapi.play100.io, game.play100.io) | Delivers site media, article content, and the embedded game |
| Hosting and network protection | Serves the site and protects it against abuse; processes request metadata including IP address |
Web fonts are served from our own domain. DriftBoss100 does not use Google Fonts, so no font request is made to Google.
Not in use today, planned:
| Service | What it would do |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Anonymous, aggregated traffic measurement |
| Google AdSense | Serving and measuring advertising — see Section 7 |
| Consent management platform | Collecting and recording your cookie choices before either of the above is switched on |
We will update this section, and the Cookie Policy, before any of these services begins operating.
7. Advertising
Advertising is not currently running on DriftBoss100. We plan to introduce it, and this section explains in advance how it will work so nothing arrives unannounced.
When advertising is enabled:
- ads will be supplied by a third-party advertising network, and that network may set cookies to serve ads, cap how often you see one, and measure performance
- where the law requires consent — including in the EEA and the UK — a consent banner will appear before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, and you will be able to refuse, or accept and later withdraw, without losing access to the site
- if you refuse, you will still be able to use DriftBoss100 normally; you may see non-personalized advertising instead
- we will never allow advertising to be dressed up as editorial content, and we do not publish affiliate links, sponsored articles, or paid placements — see our Editorial Policy
Advertising networks act as independent controllers of the data they collect and process it under their own privacy policies. Once the service is live, this section will name the provider and link to its policy.
8. How We Use Information
- to operate, maintain and secure DriftBoss100
- to serve game content and keep it performing correctly
- to understand aggregate, anonymous usage patterns so we can improve the site
- to detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security threats
- to answer you when you write to us
- to comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you ourselves.
9. Legal Bases for Processing
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Serving the site and its games | Legitimate interests — operating a website you asked to visit |
| Security, abuse prevention, server logs | Legitimate interests — protecting the service and its users |
| Answering your email | Legitimate interests, or performance of a request you made |
| Analytics cookies (once enabled) | Consent |
| Advertising cookies (once enabled) | Consent |
| Meeting legal obligations | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; see Section 16.
10. International Transfers
DriftBoss100 is served through a global content delivery network, so a request may be handled by a server outside your country. If we enable Google Analytics or Google AdSense, those services process data in the United States and elsewhere.
Where personal data leaves the EEA or the UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum, or an adequacy decision, as applicable to the provider concerned.
11. Data Retention
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
localStorage game progress and ratings | On your device until you clear browser data |
| Server and security logs | Up to 90 days |
| Email correspondence | As long as needed to resolve your query, then deleted |
| Analytics data (once enabled) | Per the retention period configured in the analytics service at that time, which we will state here |
12. Security
DriftBoss100 is served exclusively over HTTPS with a valid TLS certificate and HTTP Strict Transport Security, so traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted. We apply security response headers, including a Content Security Policy, and keep our platform dependencies updated.
No website can promise perfect security, and we do not. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting personal data, we will notify affected users and the relevant supervisory authority where the law requires it.
13. Children's Privacy
DriftBoss100 is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information — for example, by emailing us — contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
If advertising is enabled, we will configure it so that behavioral advertising is not served to users identified as children, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable rules elsewhere.
14. Your Rights Under the GDPR and UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- rectify inaccurate data
- erase your data ("right to be forgotten")
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests
- portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because DriftBoss100 has no accounts and stores your progress on your own device, we usually hold very little that identifies you — often nothing beyond a server log entry. That limits what an access or deletion request can return, and we will tell you plainly if that is the case.
15. Your Rights Under California Law
If you are a California resident, the CCPA as amended by the CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected and for what purpose, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, because advertising is not running.
If we enable personalized advertising, that activity may count as "sharing" under the CPRA. Before it begins, we will publish a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information control and honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
16. How to Exercise Your Rights
Email [email protected] with what you would like us to do. We respond within 30 days. Because there are no accounts, we may need to ask you for information to locate any records relating to you; if we cannot verify a request, we will explain why.
You can also act directly, without contacting us:
- Clear your local data — clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes everything DriftBoss100 has stored on your device, including game progress and ratings
- Withdraw cookie consent — once the consent banner is live, reopen it from the link in the site footer and change your choice at any time
- Opt out of Google Analytics across all websites — install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Control ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and aboutads.info/choices
Note that browser settings and "Do Not Track" are not how consent is given or withdrawn here. Google Analytics does not act on the Do Not Track signal, so we do not present it as an opt-out. Use the mechanisms listed above instead.
17. Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when the site changes or the law does, and we revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Where a change is material — a new third-party service, or the start of advertising — we will publish the update before the change takes effect, not after.
